The Cobra ™ TT hammer has been optimized for railway applications, in
particular for railroad tamping. Adjustment of the height / tilt of the
surface is carried out using jacks and then the sleepers in the rail section
are tamped with Cobra TT hammers. It is best to work in a team of two or
four hammers. It works with a relatively high frequency of 1620 beats /
min. The impact energy is high enough to pull the ballast back under the
sleepers and low enough to avoid fragmentation of the ballast.
